Nissan LEAF DQ'd in Backwards Hill Climb

Backwards racing has become all the rage among runners in Britain and Italy. It sounds funny.. and, well,  it is. Though, according to medical professionals, it's far easier on the knees. But, did you know that there are backwards car races too? Nissan recently tried to enter its electric LEAF into one, and it was disqualified before the race even began.

Nissan Leaf World Car of Year

The all electric Nissan Leaf is not only the most anticipated car in North America, but the world.

The EV was recently blessed with automotive's most coveted award - 2011 World Car of the Year. This honor not only marks a great achievement by Nissan, but also promotes electric vehicles to the top of the global market.

Jurors from Asia, Europe and North America commented that, "The Leaf is the gateway to a brave new electric world from Nissan." Highlighting the car's low carbon properties, judges added it "feels just like a normal car, only quieter".

Nissan Esflow Details Emerge

Last month the Nissan Esflow made its first appearance as an all-electric concept. Not many details were released on the automobile (which looks more like a shuttle docked inside The USS Enterprise), but now more info is emerging about the Esflow.

The Esflow range is 149 miles on a single charge, more than the current Nissan Leaf, which claims 100 miles a charge. Nissan Leaf is, however, currently available for a test drive at Vaden Nissan - 10421 Abercorn Street, Savannah, GA.
