The Taxi of Tomorrow Debuts in New York City

Officials at Nissan were pretty excited when the New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC) chose the 2014 Nissan NV200 to be the next official taxi cab for the city of New York. After all, NYC cabs are some of the most iconic in the world. And while the bid process took two years, and the taxis won't be hitting the streets until 2013, we think everything has been (and will continue to...

Nissan says that their latest CUV concept, the Nissan Hi-Cross, is a preview of what we can expect to see in their lineup in the future. We won't necessarily see the Hi-Cross hit showroom floors in the next few years, but the design language and fuel-efficient powertrain speak volumes about the future of Nissan's utility vehicle portfolio. Which, as it stands, is already pretty extensive.

That's right. If you want to test...

Nissan Extends Their Ecological Efforts

You know about how the Nissan LEAF EV is changing the face of sustainable technology in the auto industry, right? You might think that building a car with zero tailpipe emissions is quite a feat in the face of a changing environment. But as far as Nissan is concerned, it's just not enough.

Nissan decided to team up with City Ventures rather than another home-building company because,  City Ventures is the  most prominent Californian…

The Nissan LEAF, electric vehicle, is just part of Nissan's greater initiative. Nissan's ultimate goal is to develop a zero-emission society. The Japanese automaker doesn't really see any alternative and is hosting more frequent discussions about the seemingly farfetched utopia. Despite all of Nissan's "talk" of a zero-emission society, many consumers have been left wondering what a zero-emission society really looks like?

Nissan has created "The Planet Zero" interactive website to…

Nissan Solar Powered Charging Station

Further proving their commitment to electric vehicles, Nissan has proposed a plan to build its first-ever solar-powered car-charging station at its Nissan Americas headquarters in Franklin, Tennessee. If approved by city officials, such an endeavor would be a significant advancement over the current electric charging stations currently housed at the headquarters.

Compared to Nissan's current charging stations, which rely solely on power from the national grid electric, the proposed 300-foot facility would use solar panels to help offset the power demand that would be needed to charge the cars. If everything goes according to plan, and Nissan gets the…
