Nissan Hybrid System on Steroids

Nissan is working hard to lower the emissions from all vehicles, not just their electric Nissan Leaf. The company will soon implement an advanced supercharged engine mated to a hybrid power plant.

This hybrid, which will be available on cars at Vaden Nissan one day soon, connects a supercharged 2.5 liter 4-cylinder engine with CVT transmission, electric motor, and lithium-ion battery. Details on fuel economy will depend on the vehicles themselves, though Nissan "seems to have set out to build a system that is equal parts performance and fuel economy."1

Nissan Cars Will Soon Read Your Mind

Soon, vehicles like Nissan Altima may be able to read your mind.

Nissan is collaborating with École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) to research "Brain Machine Interface" (BMI) concepts. The idea allows disabled people to maneuver wheelchairs by thought transference. Nissan hopes to convert this project for use in cars, so that disabled drivers (and able bodied ones) can drive telepathically.
