Nissan Axes Two Krom Models for 2012

Nissan will be discontinuing two Krom vehicles for the 2012 model-year lineup: Rogue Krom and Cube Krom. Featuring unique front fascias defined by brilliant horizontal chrome bars, and dark chrome wheels, both models were debuted just two years ago.

Nissan Gets NYC Taxi Contract

In case you didn't know, there's been a bidding war among automakers trying to win a 10-year contract to build the next-generation of taxis in the Big Apple. Among the three finalists - Japanese automaker Nissan, Turkish automaker, Karsan Otomotiv, and U.S. auto manufacturer Ford Motor Co. - it originally looked as though Karsan Otomotiv would steal the show for its showy glass roof design. In the end, however, Nissan was declared winner for its bid based on the NV200 minivan.

Nissan Leaf World Car of Year

The all electric Nissan Leaf is not only the most anticipated car in North America, but the world.

The EV was recently blessed with automotive's most coveted award - 2011 World Car of the Year. This honor not only marks a great achievement by Nissan, but also promotes electric vehicles to the top of the global market.

Jurors from Asia, Europe and North America commented that, "The Leaf is the gateway to a brave new electric world from Nissan." Highlighting the car's low carbon properties, judges added it "feels just like a normal car, only quieter".
