Nissan NV200 Tested by FedEx

Nissan NV200 vans are going to work in the UK. Long before NV becomes NYC's "Taxi Cab of Tomorrow," or hits dealer lots near you, it will encounter real world situations across the globe. After 2 months, Nissan will evaluate the vehicle's responses.

These are not your everyday work vans. FedEx NVs will be all electric.

The all-electric Nissan NV200 replaces the stock driveline "with the electric running gear from the Nissan Leaf. Nissan doesn't say if this application has different specs than the Leaf, which has a 107 horsepower/207 pound-feet electric motor, an EPA-estimated 73 miles to a charge, and a charge time of seven hours at a 240-volt outlet."1

There are various benefits to driving an electric delivery van in the crowded urban London cityscape. Low speeds help keep the vehicle's drive range high, and also give FedEx (along with any future companies or private owners) tax credit for operating a "green" vehicle.
